“Discover Learn Love - A living education that comes to life”
Our story as we live it...
A wife, and mother to a socially precocious preschooler. Why we self-educate at home? The Reasons are endless, but I love the flexibility in learning through different quality curriculums combined to make a unique one just for him (kinda like a fingerprint – no two are the same). Being surrounded by family, and multi-aged peers (there is so much to be learned from a variety of different ages) True hands on learning through living books, experiments, projects, field trips with plenty of free play, and nature study. Setting our own schedule, which gives us the freedom to enjoy our passion for traveling the world. Most of all I want to instill life lessons & habits where he will grow up to be a happy, loving, considerate, responsible , and compassionate adult full of life, and a life-long learner.
LIVING BOOKS! LIVING BOOKS! LIVING BOOKS! At the moment, i’m truly enjoying the philosophies behind the Charlotte Mason style of learning for the younger years. Her gentle approach to learning using living books with lots of outdoor time (nature study) is how I want to teach my son. Her approach is marvelous, and her timeless wisdom still holds true in today’s time.
We take weekly field trips to enrich our daily learning. Using all his senses to make connections to what we’re learning on print is an essential part of a living education.
